Besides silk art, art galleries are also extremely popular in Hoi An. There are many big and small galleries in the Old Town, rich in materials, techniques and topics such as the scenery of Hoi An, the local ladies dressed in their precious “ao-dai”, or the Vietnamese traditional costume or flowers… You will also find magnificent paintings of Vietnamese painters here.

Paintings are generally of the mass-produced kind, but are still hand-painted. This shows that the locals are really gifted in the area of art. These paintings may be a little expensive and are done on lacquer as well as oil. They are generally done using bright colors, as a part of the Vietnamese tradition. The hand painted home decors such as wall hangings and lampshades could be very nice gifts for your friends and loved ones.

If you don’t want to spend a huge amount of money on purchasing these masterpieces, you can go for the printed versions, which come at a much lower price.
